Walmart remains a primary destination for Passover essentials
When asked which retailer they chose for the holiday, 75% of our customers who observed chose to shop with Walmart in 2024, showcasing their preference over the next most popular retailer by 42%.1
Shopping began more than four weeks ahead of the holiday and gained momentum during the two week lead-up to Passover. Consider advertising at least a month before the holiday to stay relevant and top-of-mind with our customers.

Purchases begin and end with tradition
Kosher food is a central part of the Passover holiday, and the cuisine is highly specific. During the weeks leading up to the holiday, we see a spike in search impressions for terms like 'Passover food' and 'kosher.'2

The customer journey primarily ends in-store
While 35% of surveyed Walmart customers researched online to see what items were available, 70% of surveyed Walmart customers made purchases for the Passover holiday in-store.1
Since the holiday shopping list primarily includes food and beverage items, 63% of our surveyed customers did their 2024 Passover shopping as part of their regular shopping trip 1–2 weeks before the holiday.1
