Mondelēz worked with Walmart Connect to implement an experimental strategy that incorporated 49 sidewalk events and 941 In-store Demos at various Walmart stores.​

Strategy

In 2024, Mondelēz wanted to ride the momentum of college basketball championships to promote new, limited-time flavors of Ritz Crackers — Sweet Habanero and Honey BBQ — as the perfect additions to game-time viewing parties.

Ritz hosted a series of basketball-themed events that engaged customers as they entered and exited Walmart stores, and while they shopped.

Tactics

Customers got their first chance to interact with the brand outside store entrances where several basketball-themed games awaited.

Inside stores, customers could ask a product specialist any questions they had about the product at In-store Demo carts. Customers could then grab one of the products from shelves nearby before checking out.​
