Walmart Media Group joins the #AloneTogether public health movement
The COVID-19 pandemic is placing a heavy burden on all of us in many ways.
Walmart has been hard at work serving our customers, communities and suppliers during this crisis. In the same spirit, Walmart Media Group has joined the industry-wide movement that urges Americans to stay safe and healthy by practicing social distancing. We’ve partnered with the Ad Council to promote their #AloneTogether public-service campaign.
Walmart Media Group will donate up to $10 million in remnant media to support the campaign and will showcase #AloneTogether ads on Walmart.com and the Walmart app from now through the end of June. We hope these ads will help educate the 160 million customers who shop with us each week about the steps they can take to protect themselves and everyone around them.
"In times like these, when we’re all facing new challenges amid this pandemic, it’s incredible to see unprecedented support like this from Walmart Media Group," said Lisa Sherman, president & CEO of the Ad Council. "Their commitment to educating their customers about how best to slow the spread of COVID-19 will keep millions safe and healthy."
At Walmart, we’re dedicated to meeting America’s needs and keeping our customers, communities and associates safe. At our stores, fulfillment centers and distribution centers, we continue to follow and promote CDC safety recommendations including hand-washing, social distancing and frequent cleaning.
Special thanks to all the teams who’ve moved quickly to make this happen. We’re all in this #AloneTogether.
